Short Summary

We begin the next trial phase, and Yulian meets a new young desert warrior.

Long Summary

As the trial continues, we meet Gahan Alramucha, another desert warrior, from the Dupure Tribe. He confronts the empire warriors to challenge for the small ration of food. He is wielding the same great sword as Yulian, who intervenes before the situation escalates. They decide to befriend one another based off of their similar tastes, and he introduces him to the rest of the Pareia warriors. Shubeon questions Yulian's decision not to take the rations from the empire. Yulian states not wanting to kill over food, and the team discusses the merits of not fighting over the miniscule amount of food provided. Since there is no rule stating that the warriors can not go out to hunt, Yulian and the others decide that is the better way to obtain food.

As Lakri brings Yulian his bonus ration he earned from the previous trial, they question her on the ruthless nature of these warrior rituals. She explains that due to the outside influence from the empire, it is necessary that they allow these additional warriors to participate. The nature of the rituals is to dwindle down the numbers. Lakri explains the Shire Tribe has to accept the empire's wishes, or it is the desert tribes who will suffer. This further strengthens Yulian's resolve, as he again mentions that the empire would not be able to continue this behavior if the desert were to be united.

We then see the desert warriors out hunting successfully for different demon beasts, while the empire warriors are shown fighting amongst each other about the small rations they were left. Yulian and Gahan then spar with one another, trading blows so that one may learn from the other. Yulian is able to get the upper hand as he is able to wield the great sword with 1 hand versus 2 for Gahan. This greatly surprises the other Dupure warrior, and also impresses both Haisha and Trickle. Thrint then decides he would like to spar as well.
